My pick of the best luxury lip balms
The changeable weather we’ve been having has really affected my skin. Flakiness, tightness, increased sensitivity. All a result of the delightful English weather!
Lips and eyes in particular have been suffering, as the skin there is up to eight times thinner than elsewhere on the face.
That’s why I always keep a lip balm in my handbag at all times. I tend to prefer colourless ones as it means I can apply over lipstick without having to look in a mirror to do so!
Below is a selection of my favourite lip balms at the moment. The prices range from £10 to £39 so hopefully there’s something for everyone.
Susanne Kaufmann – Lip Balm, £12
This has beeswax as it’s base which provides long lasting hydration for the lips. It is also the most natural of my picks as it doesn’t include vaseline or petroleum. It also contains Chamomile for instant relief.
Zelens – The Balm, £35
Contains plenty of fantastic ingredients – 13 in fact! I particularly like the essential fatty acids and ester which help to reinforce the skins barrier function and prevent water loss. It also includes Hyaluronic acid to plump up lips.
Kiehl’s – Lip Balm #1, £10
Contains squalane, lanolin and sweet almond oil to soothe and protect lips. Perfect if you have sensitive skin.
Omorovicza – Perfecting Lip Balm, £32
A glossy lip balm that really delivers! Eucalyptus makes the lips tingle and this fab product also contains shea butter and hyaluronic spheres for softer, smoother lips. Awarded Best Lip Balm at this year’s Beauty Shortlist Awards.
Lilfox – Gelsomino Jasmine Luxury Lip Butter, £39
My personal favourite! It smells absolutely divine and feels like a little bit of luxury every time I use it. It contains unusual ingredients not commonly used in other lip balms (Murumuru Butter and Cupuacu Butter for example). Also includes Pomegranate Seed Oil which helps protect against sun rays.
